Fourth Year!

I am delighted to report that the CAA accepted my re-application and I was granted my fourth Permission for Commercial Operation. My CAA number is 1281. On September 11th I started my fourth year of providing high quality aerial photography and filmmaking. I have added the DJI Mavic Pro drone to my “fleet”!

I have recently finished work for Sam Smiths Breweries, a local school and Cumbria Wildlife Trust. There are five other projects I am currently involved in at various stages: three for environmental groups, one charity and one global business!

3000 visitors

Every visitor to my website is of course equally important, but everyone likes round numbers and so I am pleased to announce this latest milestone!

Perhaps the more significant thing is that visitor numbers have been steadily increasing since I launched my new website. I have endeavoured to document and present the work I have completed as clearly and thoroughly as possible. I have enjoyed doing this and I hope you enjoy viewing it.

Of course, if you like what you see and feel you could make use of my services, I would be delighted to provide you with a quote.

NEW WEBSITE!

website

May I invite you to visit my recently upgraded website! I am so pleased with the beautiful clean layout, and I have worked hard to make it as easy as possible to navigate. The new site features direct links to all my most successful projects, and the many testimonials from satisfied clients. If you are looking for aerial photography or video for your business, please get in touch if you like what you see here. I operate my drone for filmmaking and photography throughout Cumbria, the Lake District and the North West.

Dronemobile!

I decided it was finally time to upgrade my transport to a vehicle dedicated to the business. So it gives me great pleasure to unveil for the first time, the Aerial Artwork Dronemobile…..!

Yewbarrow House Gardens

YEWBARROW HOUSE GARDENS
It was a real pleasure to be asked to produce this aerial video of Jonathan Denby’s garden at Grange-over-Sands.
Yewbarrow House Gardens are open under the Yellow Book Scheme on the first Sunday in the month from June to September, and for groups by appointment, 015395 32469 http://www.yewbarrowhouse.co.uk.
I wanted to show it now as an example of the service I can provide, but will post this again next year when the gardens are open to the public again.

Tony Roberts Carpets Direct Ltd – Outset Pictures

Earlier this year I contributed the aerial video sequences for this promotional video produced by Outset Pictures for Tony Roberts Carpets Direct Ltd based up at Whitehaven. It is hard to tell but it was quite a blustery day! A big thank you to Outset Pictures for offering me the work. I think they have done a great job putting the final video together.

BAE Systems’ new Resolution Building

Here is a slide show of some photographs I took for Wates Construction of the new Resolution Building built for BAE on the Ramsden Dock Road in Barrow-in-Furness. They were taken in September, just prior to BAE taking possession of the store. Below is a link to an article featuring one of my photographs.

Willerby Holiday Homes & Lodges

I like the fact that I have been asked to do so many different kinds of job since starting my Aerial Artwork business. Earlier in the summer I was given the challenge by Willerby to recreate a photograph from 10 years back. In 2006 a photograph was taken at Holgates’s Far Arnside Holiday Park of Willerby’s newest lodge. Ten years on they were siting their latest lodge in the exact same place, and wanted a photograph to match as closely as possible. A crane had apparently been used a decade ago but this time I used my drone to get into the same position. I will let you judge how well I matched it. Below are the photographs and the page from their magazine featuring the article.

New Z3 camera

The latest addition to my equipment is DJI’s seriously impressive new Z3 camera, which offers a 3x zoom capability. Whilst that’s nowhere near good enough to spy on people (honest!) it will allow me to zoom in on property when access dictates I have to take off and capture imagery from further away. I am looking forward to putting it through it’s paces.
