Exactly one year ago today my first drone arrived in the post. It is exciting to think back over everything I have done over the last 365 days, from opening that box a year ago to where I am now.
I finished working at Barrow Sixth Form College in May, passed my Remote Pilots Qualification in June, gained my Permission For Aerial Work from the Civil Aviation Authority in August, and with the support of the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce I started my own business in September. I have a website that explains everything that I can do, and also has a gallery and shop for selling my prints and artwork. Shockingly, I am now using social media in the form of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, 360°Cities and Sketchfab. I am offering a full range of services including aerial photography, mast photography, aerial video, aerial 360° photography and aerial photogrammetry. More about that last one in my next news item!
To all of you who have helped me along the way, not just practically but also through your interest and encouragement, I want to say a big thank you. After a quiet winter, I have started receiving enquiries and am looking forward to an eventful 2016.
