It was highly educational for me to return once again to Eycott Hill Nature Reserve to visit with geologist Sylvia Woodhead, and to work with her to piece together this film looking at the history of the geology of this area. There is no doubt that taking the camera up into the air allows you to see the extent of the lava flows and other geological features in a way that is much more difficult from the ground. It is so hard to comprehend the timescales involved and the upheavals that took place but it makes a fascinating introduction to this aspect of Eycott Hill and the surrounding landscape.
