Cumbria Wildlife Trust – Legacy Campaign

An aerial photograph of Eycott Hill with strong early morning shadows and a dramatic sky with dappled clouds

A series of four short videos were created to encourage people to leave a legacy to Cumbria Wildlife Trust. A different reserve was used for each of the stories. The challenge was to start with the view a visitor would have if they visited one of these reserves, but end with an expansive view of the reserve and the landscape beyond, all within a 30 second commercial! A smooth and gradual ramping up of the speed was required, which resulted in numerous takes. Andrew’s Story above was filmed at Whitbarrow Scar and Elizabeth’s Story below was filmed at Eycott Hill. Both have been featured prominently on the Cumbria Wildlife Trust website.

As you can see above, there are two versions of this film, one with and one without subtitles. It was shot early on a beautiful morning at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve with Blencathra as a stunning backdrop. This was the first to be used and was actually shown as a commercial on Border TV the year it was produced.

As part of the project, many aerial photographs were taken at four different sites managed by Cumbria Wildlife Trust that have been used on their website and in various publications. Above is a gallery of aerial photographs of Eycott Hill.
