I really enjoyed visiting this site, on a fabulous day , and there were a number of other people there who felt the same way too. It has commanding views over the surrounding countryside and yet it is not particularly hard work to get to the top, making it very popular. There is a variety of habitats across the site and I felt it to be very photogenic, particulalry around the tarn and wherever the ponies happened to be.
Friends of the Lake District have owned the land since 2007 and have been active in improving this site, particularly through repairing walls and planting trees.
