Sacred Heart Primary School

An aerial photograph showing Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School and Sacred Heart Church in Barrow-in-Furness

Without doubt the stars of this video were the pupils of Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School. All through my numerous journeys through the school and classrooms trying to get the footage just right they behaved impeccably. As they had been instructed to do, they ignored me and studiously got on with their work, prior to sneaking into the playground for the grand finale of the film. There were a number of self-imposed technical issues to solve, both in the shooting and the editing, which made it an exciting project to work through. I am hoping that it is not too obvious how I put it all together – that there is a bit of magic in there somewhere. However, I have to confess that capturing the train at the start of the film was a fortuitous fluke!

The 360° photograph below was also planned from the start as part of the brief – to be labelled and displayed on the home page to help explain to visitors where the school is in relation to other landmarks in Barrow-in-Furness. To see the film and 360° photograph in use you can visit the school website here: http://www.sacredheart.cumbria.sch.uk. As part of the project I enjoyed a visit to the school to give a presentation about my work.
