Back in March 2018 I was kindly invited to give a talk and presentation about my work and business by the Rotary Club of Furness. I enjoyed the evening and the films I projected seemed to go down well. I was subsequently asked by Graham Postlethwaite if I would produce a video of their Tour de Furness charity bike ride in October 2018. I agreed and spent the intervening months planning my approach and hoping for good weather…
Fast forward to the day of the event and surprise, surprise it was raining as the hardy riders set off on their various routes! Fortunately, as the morning progressed, so did the weather, and you can see on the video that many of the cyclists were finishing in sunshine.
Capturing events can be frustrating as along with the worry of poor weather conditions, you also keep thinking of the shots you could have captured, but just missed! In the end, I don’t think my trusty assistant and myself did too badly over just a few hours covering a number of different routes, managing to include quite a few of the highlights and landmarks on the rides.
Well done to everyone who joined the ride and of course to all the fantastic volunteers who gave up so much time and energy to ensure the event was a safe and enjoyable success. It was great to hear that an impressive amount of money was raised for charity.
