This positive, celebratory event was organised by XR Furness to encourage the good people of Ulverston to to think about the Climate Crisis and the kind of future world we want for our children as we come out of the Covid-19 pandemic. The butterfly theme links to the concept of metamorphosis and how we must change radically how we live and how we treat the planet.
A celebratory picnic to thank all the generous people involved in community hubs providing food and meals in Barrow and Furness, and to publicise Fareshare and the perfectly good food that can be prevented from going to landfill by setting up food clubs.
Jenni McConnell’s Single-Use Planet? Exhibition at the old Nat West Bank on the High Street in Grange-over-Sands was given a special visit on its opening on Saturday 8th February 2020. The Green Brigade from XR Furness appeared and gave the exhibition a special blessing. The exhibition is open until 29th February 2020.
