As part of the research required when preparing for an operation or flight, it is perhaps not surprising that investigating the weather, particularly wind and rain, is very important. There are many websites and apps that provide information in different forms, but forecasts frequently change and it is sometimes hard to get a feel for what is really happening up there.
So I was really knocked out when I came across a website that presents the weather in what seemed to me a pretty unique way. It is called Windyty and you can visit it here. The way it visualises wind speed and direction is very informative and, to my eyes, very beautiful. I hope you enjoy it too.
